Angel during the Pandemic
Our house was not far from where JR and I worked. Today, I decided to walk home so JR does not have to leave the house. We have been trying our best to take care of mom because she has not been feeling well. It was a hot and sunny afternoon. It was also my first time during the pandemic to walk. Nowadays, we drove in our car and make our errands quick. For me to be walking alone when the virus is still around was a little bit unnerving. I started to brisk walk and when I could almost see our car parked in the driveway, my old and worn out flip-flop decided to pop. I have to walk barefoot. The pavement was too hot. I was forced to slip into my flip-flop and walk as slowly as I can. Suddenly, a black car gently pulled over. On a normal day, I would be scared because it was also tinted. But today, it felt like an angel swooped down its wings and gave me a ride home. The driver was a former student. He was my angel today. These days, which fill us with too much anxiety and vulnerability, we have to trust that God has sent his army of angels to save us in our distress.
