How to Prepare an Interactive and Hassle-Free Dinosaur Activity that will keep your Pre-schooler engaged for almost an hour?
Materials: small dinosaur toys, toy trucks, decorative stones, papers, construction site signs, blocks, gemstones and a wide imagination
How to Play the Activity:
I told Arya that we are going to gather materials to create a construction site. I prepared a tray for her to place all the materials. Because it is a dinosaur activity, the dinosaurs were the construction workers.
We started building a construction site. The site has a gate where the stop sign is placed. There were rocks in the middle of the construction site that the dinosaurs need to clear. The rocks were surrounded by cones. Each dinosaur rides a truck and they have to say their names before they can enter the site.
This is a good way to let your kids to say long and interesting words.
Once all the dinosaurs were inside the site. Each one is tasked to do a job to help clear out the site.
Going Further:
I went further to tell the story of a jewelry store who lost some of its gems and the gems were hidden under the pile of rocks. The dinosaurs were asked to find them and take them to the jewelry store.
Arya, Going Further:
Now, Arya’s imagination got fueled up. She told me that some sea creatures were trapped under the rocks in the construction site and they need to go back to the ocean.
Arya said that it’s time for the dinosaurs to go home, bathe, eat and sleep. So we made bath tubs that turned into beds, table and chairs using the blocks. The whole activity went for almost an hour. It was a perfect way to end her dinosaur inspired day. 🙂
